Hoosick Is Illuminated Parade September 23

September 12, 2017 By eastwickpress

HAYC3’s Hoosick is Illuminated 3rd Annual Parade will be held on Saturday, September 23.

HAYC3 believes that art helps build stronger communities and creates a sense of place. Light can symbolize many things to different people but for who are participating in the Hoosick is Illuminated art project, light brings inclusion and togetherness to a community.
“After the great turnout at the lighted parade over the past two years, we are excited to see what this year’s participation will bring.” said Aelish Nealon, Executive Director.  “Kids of all ages are invited to participate.  Whether you walk, scooter, ride a bike, drive a battery operated car, or make your way in the wagon, kids will lead the way for dozens of illuminated floats, trucks, tractors and glowing creations.”  Individuals, families, organizations and businesses are invited to participate.
The festivities begin at 7:30 pm when the Hoosick is Illuminated Parade will take to the streets on Saturday, September 23.  This whimsical parade of lights will line up at 7 pm in Wood Memorial Park and will make its way down Main Street, John Street, Church Street and will end back at the park.
Following the parade, join other lumineers and launch a sky lantern located in Wood Memorial Park. You can stop by the Welcome Table to reserve one.  Sky Lanterns will be on sale on a first come first serve basis. For more information on the walk, call 518-686-9050 or visit the HAYC3 website:  www.hayc3.org.
