St. Mary’s Cow Plop Always A Good Time

October 15, 2017 By eastwickpress

St. Mary’s Academy held its Annual Cow Plop Giveaway and Car Show Sunday at the Hoosick Athletic Fields in Hoosick Falls. The event got off to a rainy start but as the day progressed the weather got better and more people and cars showed up. Vendor spaces were set up in the skating rink.

Vendors were selling all kinds of wares throughout the day. Inside the rink there were kids getting their faces painted, hickory products by Hoosick Hickory, pumpkin decorating and a Chinese auction. Photo by Steve Bradley

The Cow Plop was won by the Legg family of Berlin. It only took about an hour for the cow to do its business and the winner to be declared. Dave Nash won the 50/50.

The Car Show saw Art Dahoda, Sr. of Halfmoon, NY win the Best of Show with his 1964 Ford Thunderbird. The car count was down early but picked up throughout the day, ultimately 37 cars showed and organizers where very thankful to those car owners. There were all types of cars, from antiques to sixties muscle cars to original vintage cars.

All the organizers would like to thank all the sponsors, volunteers, teachers, staff, students and SMA families that make the show such a good event. Katie Shafer, Mary Beth Smith and Amanda Patten put together the cow plop, along with Pat Hayes, Donna Cuddihy and Rita Bulson, who organized the Car Show.
