In their first season in the Wasaren League, the Berlin Mountaineers fared very well. They did drop their regular season ending game to Greenwich 2-0. Coach Art Schmich tells The Eastwick Press “this game was a defensive battle thru out, but Berlin made 2 crucial mistakes that Greenwich took advantage of to win 2 to 0.” The first goal was on a penalty kick by Joe Connors to give Greenwich a 1 to 0 lead. Greenwich would ice the game in the second half on a direct kick by Jake Cavert. Viktor Gerkman recorded 9 saves for Berlin. Winning Greenwich goaltender Issac Carlo had 5 saves.

Earlier, Berlin bested Waterford 2-0. Ryan Willis and Tyler scored for the Mountaineers. Keeper Viktor Gerkman made several outstanding saves in the net to preserve to shutout. Anthony Santon, Connor Douglas, Seiji Akera and Connor Votra limited the Fordians to just 16 shots on goal. In other Wasaren League play, Hoosick Falls was beaten 3-1 by Saratoga Catholic and 7-0 by league leading Mechanicville.

The Tamarac Bengals ended the season with a pair of wins, 4-0 over Waterford and 4-3 over Hoosic Valley. The Cambridge Indians shut out Saratoga Catholic 2-0, before dropping a close game with Mechanicville 3-2.

In the Central Hudson Valley League, the New Lebanon Tigers blanked the Clippers of Germantown 1-0, before dropping a game to Loudonville Christian 4-3. The Berlin Girls wrapped up their season with a 3-2 overtime loss to Greenwich. Freshman Rachel Bortnick had both of the Lady Mountaineers goals. Haley Maxon made 24 save in the Berlin net.
