Mt. Anthony 38 – HF 65
Saturday, February 3 at HFCS. HF Overall 14-4, League 12-0. The Panthers dominated the Patriots from beginning to end. After holding the Patriots to seven first quarter points, while scoring 18 of their own, Hoosick Falls ran away from there. Although Mt. A was missing one of its key players, it was quite a change from the first matchup of the season when Mt. A defeated the Panthers by three points.
The Panthers are playing very good basketball right now. Evan McCart led the way with 18 points, Guy Milliman scored 16 and Jon Kempf added 12. Abe Amidon was high scorer for Mt. A with 12 points.
Mechanicville 49 -Schoharie 64
Saturday at Glens Falls Civic Center. Four Schoharie players scored in double figures while no one from Mechanicville did.
New Lebanon 78 – Tamarac 56
Saturday at Tamarac. New Lebanon’s Brandon Caul scored 33 points and Clayton Erickson added 23 to lead New Lebanon over Tamarac. New Lebanon used a 27 second quarter outburst combined with holding Tamarac to 9 points in the third quarter to grab what turned out to be an insurmountable 59-42 end of third quarter lead. The game was part of Big Red Day at Tamarac.
HF 71 – Waterford 47
Friday, February 2 at WHS. Using a 24-3 first quarter lead that Waterford could never overcome, the Panthers brought home a win. Waterford played the Panthers even for the last three quarters but that first quarter deficit was just too deep. Evan McCart scored 23 points and Guy Milliman added 19 to lead the Panthers.
Hoosic Valley 56 – Cambridge 60
Friday, February 2 at CHS. Tristan Williams scored 23 points while Brenden Holcomb added 15 to lead Cambridge over HV. Three players, led by John Acker with 25 scored in double figures for Hoosick Valley.
Mechanicville 54 – Greenwich 58
Friday, February 2 at GHS. Greenwich outscored the Red Raiders 27-17 in the first half and barely held on when the Raiders scored 26 in the fourth quarter. John Walsh scored 17 for Greenwich.
Berlin 50 – Mechanicville 75
Thursday, February 1 at MHS. Mechanicville used nine three-pointers to defeat the Mountaineers. Ryan Willis scored 24 points and Joshua Hendricks added 21 for Berlin. Kendrick McCann scored 13 for Mechanicville.
Girls
HF 44 – Mechanicville 56
Saturday, Februray 3 at MHS. Hoosick Falls outscored the Raiders 15-10 in the first quarter but the Raiders outscored the Panthers 46-29 the rest of the way. to take the win. Mechanicville’s Sammy Passinella scored 19 points as three Raiders scored in double figures. Logan Thayne scored 21 points and Eliza Whitman scored 11 for the Panthers.
Fonda-Fultonville 22 – Tamarac 48
Saturday, February 3 at Tamarac. The Bengals held Lady Braves to single digit scoring in every quarter. Renna Pounlin scored 17 and Emily Erickson scored 11. This game was part of the annual Big Red Day.
Waterford 27 – HF 45
Friday, February 2 at HFCS. The Panthers held Waterford to a total of six first half points while scoring 23 of their own. Logan Thayne scored 19 points to lead the Panthers.
Greenwich 50 – Mechanicville 49
Friday, February 2 at MHS. The Mechanicville Red Raiders fell behind by 11 points in the first quarter, 19-8 then outscored the Witches the rest of the way but fell one point short at the end. Molly Brophy led Greenwich with 18 points and Gabbie Wiss added 15.
Hoosic Valley 43 – Cambridge 51
Friday, February 2 at CCS. Cambridge kept up their undefeated pace as the number 2 Class C team in New York state. Sophie Phillips scored 18 points and Helen Mooney scored 11 to pace the Indians.
Tamarac 41 – Stillwater 25
Friday, February 2 at SHS. This game was never in doubt. Emily Erickson scored 18 and Renna Poulin added 12 for the Bengals.
