Collision At Routes 279 / 7 Intersection

February 22, 2018 By eastwickpress

On a day when Route 7 / 279 was backed up from the stop light in Hoosick well past the Route 279 exit at Home Depot with out-of-area skiers, two vehicles owned by area residents collided at the Route 7 / Route 279 intersection. The Vermont registered truck pulled out from the Route 7 stop sign into the path of an oncoming Vermont registered eastbound Acura. The Acura was not in the turning lane.

Two people, the driver of the Acura and a male passenger in the truck, were taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The Town of Hoosick and Bennington Rescue Squads, along with the Hoosick Fire Department and New York State Police, responded to the scene. Cahill’s Garage removed the two vehicles from the scene.
