George’s Daughter L. Angeline Gets Sick Also

Wednesday, November 23, 1842: Today Doctor Green tended to my wife.

Friday: Today John took the cutter and carried L. Angeline and Sarah to Mr. Ayrs and had them measured for shoes.

Sunday, Nov 27: Doctor Ludwick Green came tonight and tended to my wife and stayed tonight.

Monday: Today I repaired a one horse sled and shod sled. Today Aaron Chapman helped us make a one horse sled in the way of changing works.

Tuesday: We worked at sleds and Aaron  Chapman helped us in the way of changing works. Today Capt. Spencer Carr died.

Wednesday: Today my two sons went to school at the school house up what is called Goodrich Hollow to young Mr. Delano. Tonight quite a snow storm and high wind. This afternoon L. Angeline gave up work and went to bed for she had been unwell a number of days with a very bad cold. We sweat her and give her phisic tonight, but she did not get any relief.

Thursday, December 1: We worked at the stable a part of the day, but my foot is quite lame. Today George P. walked over to Doctor L. Green’s and had him come over and he stayed tonight and doctored L. Angeline, for she is quite sick.

Friday: We worked at the barn making gates to the stables.

Saturday: We worked at the stables making gates. Tonight John F. rode over and fetched Doctor Green for L. Angeline continues very sick and quite a high fever.

Sunday: Today or early this morning I took my cutter and rode to Hancock and fetched Aseneth Newton to take care of L. Angeline. On the way home, I called to Fisters store and had 12 cts worth camphor gum charged, and I called to Doc White’s tavern and paid 12 cts for one pint rum.

Monday: Today we cut and drew timber off the hill for stantions for my stables.  Today I sent John F. to Doctor Green’s and got medicine. Towards night John rode to Lebanon and bought a blister plaster to put on L. Angeline but we did not make any use of it for her.
