This time speed does not seem to have been a contributing factor to the Tuesday, July 31 rollover – instead, investigating Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Deputies believe the load shifted.

A dual wheel pickup towing a 25 foot vehicle carrier had just dropped off two trucks a few miles back, when the remaining utility style truck caused the trailer to roll to the right when negotiating the Route 7 turn by the pulloff in Hoosick. The trailer ripped out of the fifth wheel connection, ending up on its side, with the remaining truck coming off the trailer and resting on top of the guardrails. The vehicle was eastbound at the time.
Deputies say neither the driver nor passenger was injured, likewise for their dog. Traffic was stopped for a short while in both directions, while a wrecker from Barber and Fricke removed the debris. The Hoosick Fire Department was also on the scene to help with traffic control.
