According to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department, the body of a man who had been riding his dirt bike was found on a wooded trail off Babcock Lake Road, was discovered on Monday, August 26, by other bikers using the same trail. The victim is identified as 52-year old William Fuchs of West Lebanon. An autopsy preformed on Tuesday indicated Mr. Fuchs died of multiple blunt force trauma. They believe the biker struck a fallen tree across the trail, which in turn caused him to leave the path and strike two other trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was removed later that day.
