It was the second go-around for what has become a yearly festival described by organizers as a celebration of the vibrant rural community that is Stephentown. Once again, the festival was well attended all three days.
The celebration opened Friday night, August 17, with an exhibit that was called “Made in Stephentown”, featuring more than 20 exhibitors showcasing artists, farmers, manufacturers, craftspeople and musicians.

The weekend’s events also featured free mini golf at Gardner’s Ice Cream Shoppe, a Book Sale hosted by Down in Denver Books, a Flea Market at Pizza Plus, and Open House and Children’s Games at the Stephentown Heritage Center, a Corn Boil and Farm Equipment Open House at Kinderhook Creek Farm, as well as a Car Show and Chicken BBQ at the Fire Hall, among many others. There was a 5K-trail race on Sunday, the results of which are listed on page 3. Festivities concluded on Sunday with the first annual bake-off, co-sponsored by The Eastwick Press and Pizza Plus with a number of celebraty judges including Congressman John Faso.
Congratulations to all the weekend’s participants and to The Only Stephentown on Earth.
