When a couple of residents of The Danforth Adult Care Center in Hoosick Falls, who happened to be veterans of this nation’s armed forces, asked management why the American flag, taken down almost two years ago, had not been replaced, wheels started turning. A new flag was purchased, but The Danforth still lacked the proper rope instruction/specifications to hang it.

To the rescue, Racquel Brenenstuhl of the Hoosick Falls American Legion, who came forth with the proper expertise for re-hanging Old Glory, even providing the rope.
Next, the call went out to the Hoosick Falls Fire Department – not to put out a fire, but to assist in putting the flag atop the flagpole once more. The Department graciously responded with its ladder truck, and soon Old Glory was again waving in the breeze.
The Danforth wishes to thank the American Legion and Fire Department for their help, but most of all, the two veterans who provided the impetus for the flag replacement to happen in the first place. A proper thank you for their service and sacrifice.
