Cambridge visited the Panthers Friday and went home with something that had been at HFCS for the last nine years, the Ken Baker Jug.
The Indians played like a current state champion and have to be considered a contender for the 2018 state title.
The Indians offense overwhelmed the Panther defense, putting 57 points on the board.

The Panther offense played well and scored more points against the Indians defense than any other opponent this year, but the Panther defense couldn’t contain the Indian running game. Cambridge didn’t complete a pass in the game, they only threw four passes, but they didn’t need to pass. When you run for 416 yards, as Cambridge did on this evening, there’s no need to pass.
Hoosick Falls scored first when Liam McGarvin ran for a 39 yard score. Cambridge roared back to put the Panthers on their heels when they scored the next four touchdowns.
Max Kipp scored the next touchdown for Hoosick Falls when he took a kick-off and threaded his way through the Cambridge defense 88 yards for a score.
Cambridge scored two more touchdowns before quarterback Sam Vincent hooked up with wide receiver Jeffrey Vincent for a 29 yard pass to bring the Panthers within 38-18 at the half.
Cambridge put the game away when they outscored the Panthers 12-7 to take a 52-25 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Panther quarterback Sam Vincent threw 20 passes, completing nine for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Liam McGarvin rushed eight times for 81 yards, while Max Kipp had 34 yards on twelve carries. Receiver Jeffrey Vincent had four receptions for 106 yards, McGarvin had one catch for 25 yards and Isaac Friel had three for 17 yards.
Tyler Linendoll led the Cambridge ground attack with 224 yards on 25 carries, Tommy English had 143 yards on 18 carries.
Notable: Both teams struggled from the extra point line going a combined 4 of 14. It was an exciting game for yardage on touchdowns. There were eight touchdowns of 29 yards or more, including the last six touchdowns of the game.
