A Weather Wonderful Fall Weekend In Berlin

September 27, 2018 By steve bradley

As Mother Nature shows signs she is preparing to paint the hills and valleys of Eastern New York in her dazzling autumn hue, the mere mortals of the Taconic Valley were out and about showing some of their Fall finery and collections this past weekend.

The Berlin Jr./Sr. high School presented its annual Fall Fest this past Saturday, September 22 on both the grounds in front of the building, and with craft displays and a haunted classroom inside.  Many area organizations were also on display, such as Taconic Valley Basketball, with games or items for sale to benefit their efforts to help area children.

John Kellar of Berlin brought his yellow 1950 Willy’s Jeepster back to the Fall-Out Car Show, as it again proved to be one of the most popular show vehicles on the grounds.

Just down the road a bit, it was time for the 13th Fall-Out Car and Bike Show at the Berlin Fire House, sponsored once again by the Berlin Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.  The parking lot abounded with classic vehicles, as the sound of oldies filled the air and the smells of some fabulous fall food wafted out from inside the building.

Both events were well attended, as plenty of sunshine and some crisp but not yet cold temperatures made for the perfect fall weekend.
