The weather looked like it might be a little (ruff) at first, but the sun came out and everyone had a howling (humans too?) good time at Grafton Lakes State Park’s annual Bark and Brew.
Dogs from not much bigger than the size of your hand, to well over 100 pounds had the chance to run, play, socialize and even try out the agility course, while their humans browsed the many different pet oriented vendors and got the chance to try out a micro brew or two.

The star of this year’s event, held Saturday, September 22, was Hudson, the railroad dog. In 2012, Hudson and his two littermates were found nailed to railroad tracks in Albany. One of Hudson’s siblings recovered, the other unfortunately passing away. Hudson ultimately lost a paw, but became a story with a happy ending. A heartening example for anyone who is suffering, Hudson now has a prosthetic foot that attaches to his leg with Velcro and works as a therapy dog in schools, hospice and wherever else he might be needed.
A portion of the proceeds from the event went to regional animal rescue organizations.
