The roots of Garlicfest are now 23 years deep in the Bennington community, and if this year’s festival is any indication, they will continue to grow. Attendance again neared 15,000, as the weather cooperated and the organizers innovative approach to keeping the festival fresh, paid off.

There were lots of bands, vendors from all around New England, New York and Pennsylvania, and so much garlic there wasn’t a vampire reported for miles around.
Festival goers were exposed to all sorts of uses for garlic, that ranged from food and recipe preparations to it’s believed many medicinal purposes. If you had enough garlic, there were lots of different kinds of food vendors spread around the grounds of Camelot Village on Route 9 in the western part of the town, including six distilleries.
Garlicfest was again named one of Vermont’s 2018 Top Events of the year, as well as being selected a Top Event by Yankee Magazine.
