Panthers Sidetrack Railroaders, 52 – 32

Saturday, September 1. Panther Max Kipp romped all over the Whitehall Railroaders Saturday, scoring two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters. He scored on offensive running plays of 18, 70, 35, and 9 yards, then to add the icing to the cake, he scored on a second quarter kick return of 98 yards. Sam Richard added a two yard run and Liam McGarvin scored on a 31 yard run.

After grabbing a 21 point first quarter lead the Panthers scored the first points of the second quarter to lead by 27 before Whitehall put any points on the board.

Kipp ran for 201 yards on 15 carries and McGarvin added 111 of his own.

Richard threw for 161 yards, completing seven of ten passes. Isiah Burnett caught three of those passes for 94 yards, with Jeffrey Vincent catching three for 61 yards. Whitehall gained 275 yards on the ground.

The Panthers will host Canajoharie/Fort Plain on Friday, September 7. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.

Other Class C North scores were: Cambridge 41 – Hoosic Valley 7; Lake George/Hadley-Luzerne 28 – Warrensburg 12; Greenwich 0 – Mechanicville 6; Holy Trinity 47 – Corinth 12; Granville 0 – Stillwater 48. In other area games Fair Haven 33 – Mount Antony 0. Mount Greylock begins its season this week against Hoosac Valley in Cheshire.

Tamarac 32 at Cohoes 8

The Tamarac Bengals scored all their 32 points in the first half, then the defense did its part by allowing the Cohoes Tigers just 8 points in the final quarter to win their season opener at home Friday night, August 31.

Bo Catherwood threw for two touchdowns, both to Frank Zotto for 11 and 36 yards respectively. Peyton Nealon carried the ball 13 times for 92 years rushing, Catherwood picked up 26 yards on 5 carries.  Frank Zotto hauled in 3 passes for 59 yards.

Tamarac travels to Fonda this Friday night with a 7 pm start for another non-league matchup against the Fonda-Fultonville Braves.
