False Alarm

October 11, 2018 By steve bradley

About twenty minutes after Princess Warrior and calf Queen of Hearts were let into the corral for St. Mary’s Cow Plop event and began to feed on the grass, Princess Warrior, foreground in picture, lifted her tail and everyone held their breath. Anyone who owned a $20 plot asked themselves, “Will she plop on my plot?” It turned out to be a false alarm as Princess Warrior had to go number one. But about an hour later, Princess Warrior had to go number two and her plop fell on Margaret LeStage’s plot.

Ms. LeStage, whose grandchilden Norma and Margie White attend St. Mary’s, was very happy about that as she won $1,000. Dean Bushey won the 50/50 of $200 and donated a portion back. The Chinese Auction was also a great success, according to event spokesperson Pat Hayes, who won three of the items. Photo by Steve Bradley.
