At the Thursday, October 18 Board of Education Meeting, Hoosick Falls Central School District (HFCSD) Superintendent Ken Facin publicly announced his plans to retire from the position at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. After accepting Mr. Facin’s resignation with regret, the Board then appointed High School Principal Patrick Dailey as the new superintendent for the HFCSD beginning July 1, 2019.

“It has been a privilege to serve the Hoosick Falls Central School District as superintendent for the past 12 years,” said Facin. “I am very pleased with the Board’s action in naming Patrick Dailey as the incoming superintendent. Pat is a former teacher and experienced administrator with the skills and knowledge to lead the District and to do it very well.”
Dailey has been a part of the school district for 18 years, excelling as a teacher, elementary school principal, director of curriculum and instruction, and, most recently, as high school principal.
“The Board, teachers, supervisors, and school administrators have all expressed their unequivocal support of Pat,” Facin continued. “He has earned this support through his ongoing commitment to improve the educational experience of Hoosick Falls’ students. As a part of the administrative team, he has been instrumental in the positive changes we’ve made as a district.”
“We are excited to welcome Pat and his experience to the position but at the same time, we need to take a moment to thank Ken,” said HFCSD Board of Education President John Helft. “Ken has always put the education and well-being of our students at the forefront of every decision he’s made as superintendent, while never losing sight of the costs and the taxpayers that support our efforts.”
“Our school has moved in a very positive direction since Ken joined us,” continued Helft. “We’ve made many building and campus improvements and our students have become more involved in the community through service learning and student advocacy. Honestly, as a school board, we’re always trying to keep up with Ken’s incredible energy.”
Dailey’s 18-year career in education has been entirely at HFCSD. In 2004, he earned his permanent certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor and, in 2005, as a School District Administrator. Dailey has been in an administrative role within the District since 2007.
“I am very thankful and appreciative of the support and encouragement I’ve received from the Board of Education, Mr. Facin, and the entire staff at HFCSD,” said Dailey.
“As a former teacher, current administrator, and parent, I am proud of the innovations the district has already integrated into its culture. I look forward to working with students, families, the community, and the staff to carry on the work Mr. Facin has done to set the foundation for a very bright future for the District.”
