It was difficult to tell exactly what happened but a Mercedes-Benz driven by James Thornton Metz, 80, of Longboat Key, Florida and a Toyota Corolla driven by Amanda Giordano, 26, of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania ended up side by side on the south side of Route 7 with both vehicles front wheels in the ditch.
