The Grafton VFW was festive place to be on Saturday, November 24, as Santa dropped by for breakfast and there were Gingerbread Houses everywhere you turned. The day started out when the Jolly Ole Elf made his traditional appearance at the Grafton Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary monthly breakfast. Children got a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they would like for Christmas, or simply gather around while Mrs. Claus read the classic “Twas the Night before Christmas.”

No sooner was breakfast picked up and the dishes done, when the Grafton Youth Program presented its second Gingerbread House Decorating Party. The program provided the houses and supplies, and 55 children went to work creating their own unique edible works of art. They also made decorations for the program’s Christmas Tree, to be entered in the upcoming Festival of Trees. (See story on this page.)
