The wrestling team had its first home match of the season against Cairo-Durham on Thursday, December 6 at New Lebanon High School. Josh Bosso led the way with his first varsity pin on the year and Evan Yerdon defeated his opponent in 16 seconds. The team never looked back as it secured additional wins from Alex Chrisikos, Jake Harrison, Anthony Prather, Matt Kluck, Josh Montanye, Cole Roberts, and Lane Moshimer, as they went on earn their first dual meet victory of the season 54 to 36.
They also competed at the Monument Mountain Duals last Saturday, December 8 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. They lost their first match to a tough Sabis Charter School 48 – 36, but bounced back to beat the Southwick (51 – 24) and Gateway (66 -18) schools to finish the day with a 2-1 record.
Posting two wins apiece in the Monument Mountain event were William Prather, Devin Johnson and Joshua Kluck. Also victorious in matches were Jake Harrison, Steven Mallory, Joshua Wescott, Josh Bosso, Joshua Montanye, Cole Roberts and Evan Yerton.
