Hoosick Lions Club Events

December 6, 2018 By steve bradley

The November 15 Lions meeting had as its guest speaker the Executive Director of the Louis Miller Museum, Joyce Brewer. Joyce presented an overview of the offerings of this fine local museum. Within the museum are books of local history, exhibits of Grandma Moses, Rev. Edith Craig Reynolds and many others. In the garage area behind the museum there are examples of Walter A. Wood farm machinery. Joyce encouraged members to join the Historical Society and visit the museum.

Lions Club President Bill Gaillard presents the $400 dollars check for the Christmas Giving for Kids Program to Lori Burdo. Photo Provided.

The Lions donated $400 for the Christmas Giving to Kids Program. This program, under the auspices of the HFCS PTA, is operated by Kindergarten educators Tiffany Stratton and Lori Burdo. This is the second year the Lions have been contributors to the program.

The local Lions contribute funds for eye exams, glasses, and support the diabetes programs of the National Lions. Funds for these programs are generated through the sale of Christmas Trees, Easter bunny sales (chocolate) and the 5K race in the spring. The Lions Club thanks all who support these programs.
