The hands of time were turned back on the streets of downtown Troy on Sunday, December 2, as the 36th version of the Victorian Stroll took over the heart of the city. The annual holiday tradition draws upwards of 30,000 visitors each year, with 2018 being no exception. Parking was at a premium, as the people dressed in the style of the Victorian times (the late 1800s in this country) strolled up and down the streets, while local musical groups entertained and there was food, shopping and activities for all ages.

Many shops entered the Window Decorating contest, with this year’s theme being “Winter Holidays Around the World.”
The festivities, which are coordinated each year by the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, culminated with the lighting of the City of Troy’s tree and a Menorah lighting ceremony at Monument Square, all brightened by the sound of Christmas Carols sung by the Troy High School chorus.
