HF Burglary

A second arrest has been made by the Hoosick Falls Police Department in reference to a burglary that occurred in the Village in December 2018.Dylan Gibson, age 22, of 323 County Route 68, Eagle Bridge was arrested on Thursday, January 17 and charged with 4 Felony Counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
A Justin Faatz was arrested on New Year’s Day and charged with Burglary 3rd and Possession of Stolen Property.
Guns that were taken were recovered in Vermont after the investigation found that Gibson had taken the weapons there for sale.
Gibson is also facing charges in Vermont and the Hoosick Falls Police Department will be looking into additional charges against Gibson for transporting stolen firearms across state lines.
Alleged Burglary at Brunswick Walmart
Brunswick Troopers arrested a Troy man who reportedly tried to steal two televisions from the Walmart in Brunswick. David Luce, 56 of Troy was charged with one count of Burglary in the 3rd degree, a Felony and one count of Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor. Store employees witnessed Luce push a cart containing two televisions, past all points of sale and when confronted by a store employee, fled the store. Luce was later located, taken into custody and was transported to the Brunswick barracks for processing. Luce was arraigned in the Town of Brunswick Court by the Honorable Town Justice G. Lawrence Kronau, and was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
Drug Bust
On Wednesday, January 16, after a two-month investigation, the Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Rensselaer County Probation Department, executed a search warrant at 460 Second Avenue in Troy. Deputies seized approximately one ounce of crack cocaine, some of which was packaged for sale, as well as a scale, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Melquan A. Simpson, age 27, of Troy was arrested at the scene and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class B Felony), and Possession with Intent to Sell (Class B Felony). Simpson was arraigned in Brunswick Town Court by the Honorable Lawrence Kronau and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.
Simpson was found to be a Parole Absconder who was wanted since September of 2018, who has previous Felony convictions.
