In the January 1, New York State Sportswriters Association poll, six of the top 20 teams in Class C were located in Section 2. Hoosic Valley (#4, 8-2), Cambridge (#5, 4-1), Maple Hill (#9, 9-2), Warrensburg (#12, 10-0), Greenwich (#14, 6-2) and Berne-Knox-Westerlo (#19, 7-1). Three of them, Hoosick Valley, Cambridge and Greenwich, are WASAREN League teams.

Wednesday, 1/2. Playing without their center and leading scorer Logan Thayne due to a sore back, the Panthers struggled to keep pace in scoring and were outrebounded 34-16. Grace Wysocki led the Panthers with 12 points, all on three-pointers. Graceann Bennett scored 25 for the Warriors.

Friday, 1/4. Cambridge Indian players Sophie Phillips scored 16 points, Ruth Nolan added 11 and Lilly Phillips 10 in the win.
