New York State police report the Nassau business suffered heavy fire and water damage, after flames broke out Monday evening, January 14. Troopers say the owner of the Route 20 establishment was not there when a passerby reported the fire, but returned, and later had to be treated for minor smoke inhalation.

The west side of the building suffered the most extensive damage, although it was not known at press time, if the building will be deemed a total loss. State Police say while the cause is still under investigation, it is believed to be electrical in nature.
Firefighters from Nassau called in mutual aid from both Rensselaer and Columbia Counties to help battle the flames.
