Bishop Maginn 11 20 20 17 68

Tamarac 12 26 18 8 64

Saturday, 2/2. The feature event for Big Red Day at Tamarac High School was a thriller from beginning to end. The Bishop Maginn Griffins got out to a quick lead only to have Tamarac start swinging back and be leading at the conclusion of the quarter. The Tamarac Bengals led through the middle quarters, scoring on drives to the hoop through the Maginn defense, many by Bo Catherwood in the third quarter. But the Griffins kept chipping away at the Bengal lead and finally took it back in the middle of the fourth quarter. Once they had that lead in their possession, they never gave it back. It was an exciting game for the spectators, with both teams giving it all they had and the fans of both teams letting their team know they were there. The Bengals’ Catherwood led the scoring with 24 points. Ian Scott had 18 and Frank Zotto added 15 for Tamarac. Maginn’s Jayden Williams scored 16, Anthony Davis had 14, Treylan Cortina had 12 and Kurtis McMullen added 11.

Mt. Anthony 9 19 6 13 47

Hoosick Falls 13 15 11 17 56

Saturday, 2/2. In their first meeting earlier in this season, the Hoosick Falls Panthers blew out the (Bennington) Mt. Anthony Patriots by 33 points. In this much closer game, the Patriots were within reach of a win throughout the game. The game was tied at 28 at the half after Mt. Anthony used a 19 point second quarter to overcome a first quarter deficit, but Mt. Anthony only scored six points in the third quarter to fall behind and couldn’t come back from that. Jon Kempf scored 28 points and Tristan Williams added 16 for the Panthers. Gavin Johnson scored ten for the Patriots.

Hoosick Falls 18 12 12 23 65

Tamarac 10 17 15 10 52

Friday, 2/1. Tied after three quarters of play, Hoosick Falls used a 23 point fourth quarter to run away from the Bengals with a 13 point win. Jon Kempf had 22 points for the Panthers, with Tristan Williams adding 19 and Max Kipp chipping in 18. Bo Catherwood dropped in 16 for Tamarac and Anthony Ciampolillo added 11. With the win, Hoosick Falls clinched the 2018-19 Hudson Division of the Washington-Saratoga-Rensselaer (Wasaren) League title.

Berlin 6 9 4 10 29

Cambridge 22 12 18 5 57

Friday, 2/1. Cambridge used a 22 points first quarter outburst to take an insurmountable lead over the Mountaineers. Nick Murphy scored 20 for the Indians. Malachi Ritter scored 13 for Berlin.
