Lizza Ryan, a 2016 HFCS graduate and the all time leading scorer in Section 2 field hockey history, has been chosen to play on the 2019 U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team. She was chosen from players all over the country who participated at the 2018 Young Womens National Championship or competed for a roster spot after being recommended by their college coach.

The team will meet three times over the next two months to prepare for their international tour to Germany from April 14-22. The team will play Germany’s and Great Britain’s U-21 teams in Monchengladback, Germany.
Ryan recently transferred from the University at Albany to Boston University. BU competes in the Patriot League, along with American University, Bucknell, Lafayette, Holy Cross, Lehigh, and Colgate. In the 2018 season, Boston University, ranked #22 nationally, won the Patriot League title with a 6-0 conference record. The team fell to #24 Miami in the NCAA tournament.
Ryan is the daughter of Mike and Patty Ryan of Hoosick Falls.
