Thursday, June 26, 1845: This afternoon I took my two wheel carriage and carried my wife to Mr. Reuben Andrews on a visit. Aaid Andrews went with me on to my Fairbanks lot and we found that there had been timber cut and carried off. I agreed with said Andrews to take in charge of my timber and not let anyone destroy it. Tonight as we returned home we fetched Sarah Sackett from Allen Wos home with us.
Friday: This morning Geo P was taken quite unwell and I borrowed eight Moffitt’s pills and a small bottle of rum of Wm B. Maxon, and today I sent by Mr. John Russel to Lebanon and paid the cash to Wm. Gay’s store, 12 cts for one pint of rum and 25 cts for one box of Moffitt’s pills.
Sunday: Today I and my wife and oldest son and oldest daughter went to the Chapel to meeting, Elder Geo Kelton preached, and on the way I called to Howard’s Post Office and left two dollars with him to forward on to Boston to A. Tompkins to pay for the Ladies Repository for one year from the first.
Monday: I walked up to Howard’s Post Office and from there to Gilbert Green’s and then to Zebulon Simmons and home. On the way home I invited some hands to help take down the old church to rebuild for a school house and Church. This afternoon some rainy.
Tuesday, July 1: This afternoon I and Geo P. went to the taking down of the old Baptist, that is the Seventh Day Church and we went with our ox team and wagon and drew a load of said timber.
