Hoosick Falls police assisted by law enforcement agencies from around Eastern New York and Vermont, continue to look for 34-year old Justin Faatz, who fled the Hoosick Falls Police Department just after 5:30 pm on Wednesday, March 27. He was last seen walking along Main Street in the village. Police spent all of Wednesday evening searching for him around Hoosick Falls, in North Hoosick and along the New York-Vermont boarder on Route 346 in North Petersburgh, where they received phone calls from residents who said a man fitting his description was seen walking along the road in that area.

Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe told the news media Thursday afternoon, they are fairly confident that Faatz is no longer in the village, and believe he may have fled south. The chief however, continued to say they do not believe Faatz was armed, but knows he is being chased and might become desperate. He advised if anyone does spots him, not to approach the escapee, but to call 911. He was last reported to be wearing a long sleeve grey fleece jacket, red tee shirt underneath and dark colored pants. He may also have a set of handcuffs attached to his right wrist.
Faatz was arrested by Hoosick Falls police back in January for a burglary on 4thStreet. He was picked by authorities in Vermont earlier Wednesday on a warrant issued after he failed to appear in court.
