It was an artistic evening at the Brunswick Community Library last Friday, March 15. Eleven local artists, along with The Friends of the Library Group, united to participate in the library’s first ever artist exhibition and benefit event, “Art at the Library.”

A full house of patrons and community members arrived at the library to purchase some visual art from local artists while donating to the Friends of the Library group at the main door. Guests were treated to refreshments, took part in the making of a community art piece completed on a large white painting canvas, and supported the artists who were displaying and selling their work all evening.
The artists, each differing in their mediums of nature, wildlife and music photography, pottery, knitting, painting, illustration, to mixed media and chain mail, participated in this unique exhibition. This event was a great way for local artists and the community to support each other while supporting their local library as well.
Event attendees who donated to the Friends of the Library Group were able to get their art passports stamped as well as receiving a raffle ticket , giving them the opportunity to win a home-made quilt by Ann Grab.
The artists that took part in the benefit event included Library Director, Sara Hopkins, Margo Berch Singer, Amy Modesti, Ann Grab, Christine Ann Love, Ben Duffy, Sarah Jane Bourdeau, Amezri, Muse En Lystrala, Cynthia Lin, Stacy Whitmore, Paula Drever Van Meter and Karen Zagusky, among others.
