Literary Characters Is The Theme Of Berlin 4th Of July Parade

For over 100 years the Berlin’s annual 4th of July has celebrated the best that is America. Our reputation has been carried by attendees as far away as Texas and Ireland and is often referenced as “the best Americana ever seen.” Once again on Thursday July 4 the valley will be filled with the patriotism that makes America great.

This year’s Grand Marshall will be the Berlin Free Town Library, celebrating 125 years of service to the community. In keeping with this, our theme for floats and participants will be Literary Characters. The theme allows for a very broad base of creativity…

Authors, characters from books, book series, destinations (places), subject matter, along with villains, heroes, and heroines all can be part of the story shared by float entrants with the thousands of attendees.

Nancy Drew to Sam Spade. Beowulf to Winnie the Pooh. Poe to J. K. Rowling. Hogwarts to Xanadu. The subject is as wide open as the thousands of books housed at our library – Be creative. Have Fun. Create a memory.

As always everyone involved with the event is excited to witness the ingenuity and creativity bringing the theme Literary Characters to life.
