4/4. Played at HFCS. On a cold, windy, 42 degree day where all the spectators were wrapped in blankets, the Hoosick Falls Panthers (1-0) defeated the Berlin Mountaineers, 8-0.Berlin’s Teigen Carlin and Morgan Bellard each had a single while Mikayla Corsey had a double. Hoosick Falls’ Mackenzie Ellis, Sophie Estes and Marissa Landry each had two hits, one of Landrys being a double.

Olivia Brownell, Abigal Philpott, and Lyric Kriner each had a single. Berlin pitcher Bailey Catlin pitched six innings, giving up nine hits and striking out eight. Hoosick Falls pitcher Abigail Philpott pitched seven inning, gaving up three hits and striking out 16.

Note: Weather has been causing havoc with the Wasaren League schedule. Most of Friday’s, Monday’s and Tuesday’s games were postponed to be played on later dates.
