Softball

April 20, 2019 By steve bradley

Last Saturday, the Hoosick Falls girls JV and Varsity softball teams competed in games at the Mudville Tournament located in Herkimer, NY. The unique setting hosts the longest running softball tournament and nation’s second largest high school tournament. It’s like backyard ball, fences are made out of chicken wire and benches are set on cinder blocks. Teams come back year after year, this year the grounds hosted 142 teams and over 3,000 players, the largest tournament in the state. Games are played on five fields, no field is the same shape as another. Most entry money is donated.

The varsity Panthers did well, they won both their games, the JV won one and lost one. Good ole’ fashioned sandlot softball.
