This wood frog (Rana sylvatica) is swimming in a vernal pool in Petersburgh where eggs are laid in masses of thousands.
The frogs are strong swimmers with long legs measuring twice the size of the body. The water is deeper in the pools this year so it is not as easy to see the frog’s legs.
