A Very Busy Night For The Planning Board

The Board is tasked with writing a recommendation letter to the Town Board, as to its thoughts on the proposed 26 housing lots called Brunswick Acres, because it is being dealt with as a Planned Development District (PDD).  Some of the concerns they addressed were storm water management, water lines, septic, fire access and concentration levels.  It was proposed to them by Brunswick Fire officials, that an access road of Ricarrdi Lane, tying into the backside of the proposal’s cul-de-sac be built.  Planners shot that down, however, because of topography and the need to acquire right of ways.  They also feared it might become another corridor between Route 2 and 7. Planning Board Chair Russ Orton expressed his concern about of the density of the homes on the 44 acres plot as well. Whether the proposal fits in with the town’s comprehensive plan was another question raised. The planning board next meets on June 6, and hopes to finalize a draft letter to the Town Board at that point.
