Alleged Animal Abusers Face Protestors Outside Courtroom
By Doug La Rocque
Christopher and Amber Lamountain of Kautz Hollow Road in Grafton were met with about a dozen people, some holding signs protesting their alleged animal abuse, when they arrived for their hearing in Grafton Town Court on Tuesday evening, May 14. The pair were arrested by State Police and charged with Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance and Failure to Provide Proper Shelter for an animal.

Acting on a complaint, troopers say they found a dog tied in the yard without access to food, water or shelter. Animal Control Officer Vicky Burdick took the dog to a local veterinarian, but it unfortunately had to be euthanized two days later.
Both defendants entered a not guilty plea, and asked for court appointed lawyers. The case was adjourned until June 11.
