Brew Pub Application Moves Forward
By Doug La Rocque
Nearly 30 people turned out for a public hearing on Monday, May 20. The people came before the Grafton Planning Board to speak about an application to open a brew pub at 13 Babcock Lake Road, the site of the former Grafton Elementary School. Ed Donovan and Rob Swider, the applicants, answered questions from those in attendance, though no one spoke in opposition to the proposal.
Mr’s. Donovan and Swider answered questions about parking, lighting, and just what there plans are for the operation. They indicated they plan to sell New York products, brew and sell their own beer, have a bar type set up and little café style tables. They also said they would have an outside vendor provide food.
The applicants needed the Planning Board’s approval before they could move forward with the logistics of forming their company, and applying to the NYS Liquor Authority for licensing. They also said if everything goes as planned, they are looking to open the establishment by the end of the year.
Following the public hearing, the board voted unanimously to approve the application.
