Hoosick Falls Memorial Day Celebrations And Parade

Memorial Day Rites in the Village of Hoosick Falls begin at 8 am on Monday, May 27, with the raising of the American Flag over Wood Park, by American Legion Commander Ed Powers, with a salute from the Legion, its Auxiliary and the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. The auxiliaries accompanied by the Hoosick Falls High School Band will then march from the corner of Main Street and Wilder Avenue to the Shop Bridge to honor the men of the U.S. navy, who lost their lives at sea.  

The Parade Committee will honor the dead of the Civil War at Monument Park, at the junction of Classic and High Streets, at 8:45 am.

World War veterans, the American Legion and Auxiliary will assemble at the World War I and Veteran’s Memorial in Wood Park at 9:15 am, where wreaths will be placed on the WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam monuments. The annual Village parade will follow at 10 am.
