Triple Beauty
Purple Trillium (Trillium erectum) is blooming in area woods. The parts and leaves of this showy wildflower are arranged in threes. Flowers are up to three inches wide and maroon in color.
This one was found along a spring in the Petersburgh forest. Now is the best time of year to enjoy wildflowers in our rich woods.
