Subtle Beauty
Although many of our forest May wildflowers are showy, you probably won’t find Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) unless you are looking for it. A delicate wildflower, its blooms are no more than one-half inch and seen before the leaves uncurl. Most stand about a foot high.

Tea made from the roots of Blue Cohosh was used by early Native Americans for muscle cramping and other conditions.
