Saturday, June 1. Class C Sectional Championship held at Joe Bruno Stadium on Hudson Valley Community College campus.
The Panthers (O 12-10, L 7-8) never got anything rolling offensively in this game. Fort Plains’ pitcher John Cortese was on his game and the Panthers were the victims.
The Panthers chance to take some kind of control came in the first inning when with one man on first base, Ryan Bloomer came up and walloped a line drive to right center field that took the right fielder to the wall. Hoosick Falls had men on second and third with no outs. But Cortese buckled down and started firing. By the the time the inning came to an end, Cortese had three strikeouts and Hoosick Falls still had runners at second and third base.

At the end of the game, Cortese had 14 strikouts and Hoosick Falls had no runs.
Hoosick Falls pitcher Evan Webster (6-2) held the Hilltoppers (20-0) scoreless through the first two innings but in the third inning they started to tee off and there was nothing the Panthers could do to stop them.
The Panthers lost but it was good run. They were never expected to be in the championship game, but they were. Nothing to be embarassed about there.

Wednesday, May 23. Class C Sectional semi-finals played at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, NY. Hoosick Falls came into this game a decided underdog.Chatham (O 17-4, L 13-3) was on a roll, scoring 38 runs in its previous two games, 19 in each. But in the end, Hoosick Falls had ‘em right where they wanted ‘em.
The Panthers scored two runs in the first inning, with a single by Jake Sparks, one run came on a balk and one on a RBI groundout by Cody Hodges. Hoosick Falls then made those two runs be enough for the win.
Panther pitcher Evan Webster pitched a great game. Webster only gave up three hits to the explosive Chatham offense, with no walks. He struck out four.
The Hoosick Falls Panthers became the Cinderella team of the sectionals that headed to the championship game.
