New Lebanon HS Honors Memorial Day

June 1, 2019 By steve bradley

On Thursday, May 23, New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School students and staff paused to honor the men and women who have sacrificed and served our country during the Annual Memorial Day Assembly.

The program included the presentation of colors by the American Legion Post #1236, the James E. Callahan Vietnam Veterans Chapter 65, Stephentown Veterans’ Association and the Chandler-Young Veterans Association.

The choir performed “Song for the Unsung Hero” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” In addition, high school senior Taylor Robertson sang the national anthem. Guest Speaker was Robert Weber, Owner of Country Squire. During a slide show, Science teacher and Veteran Glenn Giumarra recognized those who have served as their photo and name was read aloud.

Immediately following the program, a reception hosted by New Lebanon staff and students was held in the library.

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success and thank you to those who have served or currently serve our country.
