Kylie Galipeau and McBenna Ryan started the fourth inning off with singles, Heinrichs moved them along with a double and two outs later G. Castiglione singled to give the Bengals three runs in the inning and a four run lead

After going scoreless in the first five innings, number twelve seed Schalmont scored twice in the sixth using three straight hits, getting within two  runs of the lead with their top of the order coming up in the top of the seventh.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Bengals sent four batters to the plate, stranding one at first base.

Schalmont’s leadoff batter stepped into the box to start the seventh inning and promptly sent the ball over the left field fence that put Schalmont within one run of the Bengals. The next batter hit a double to quickly put herself in scoring position, then advanced to third on an infield grounder by the next batter.

That next batter popped out to the second baseman to end the game and keep the Bengals active in sectional play

Maggie Kelly pitched the seven innings for the Bengals, giving up nine hits and striking out 12. McKenna Ryan went two of four, Gianna Bucciero went two for two, and Kylie Galipeau was two for two.
