Starting Our Third Year
Again, Tom and I would be quite remiss if we didn’t take this opportunity to say thank you to all those who have and who continue to support The Eastwick Press as we begin our third year of publication. Yes, there have been some struggles, some expected, some unexpected, but Rensselaer County’s Community Newspaper has persevered.
We are undergoing growing pains as we expand our coverage area into Brunswick and other municipalities in the county, but want to reaffirm our commitment to the core communities that have been the lifeblood of the paper. Without you, there would be no Eastwick Press.
This coming year will (if the best laid plans of men and mice hold true) see an expansion of our operation, in size, coverage area and work to support community programs. We, of course, welcome your ideas and suggestions.
We are a little more than a year into our new headquarters in the former Grafton Elementary School, and our readers are always welcome to stop by. Look for the BIG American flag out front.
We would also like to particularly thank four people who were an integral part of the paper before our purchase, and who have stayed on with us. Without them, who knows where we would be. I speak of course of Alex Brooks, Bea Peterson, Steve Bradley and Thaddeus Flint.
Brittni Russell and Amy Modesti came on board shortly after we started, and we welcome our latest contributors, Irene McCollar and Emily Gabert.
There is a old cliché, “Who knows what the future may bring.” We sincerely hope it is the best for all of us.
