West Hoosick Motorcycle Accident Claims A Life

A Hoosick Falls woman died Tuesday evening, July 9, after the motorcycle on which she was a passenger struck a deer while traveling northeast on Clay Hill Road in West Hoosick.
New York State Troopers say the 2000 Harley Davidson was being operated by 55-year old Kirk Vonhaggin of Hoosick Falls, when a deer entered the roadway. Vonhaggin and his passenger, 66-year old Mary Eddy, were ejected from the cycle upon impact.

Ms. Eddy was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mr. Vonhaggin was transported to the Albany Medical Center. Troopers say their investigation is continuing.
The West Hoosick Fire Department. along with the Hoosick Rescue Squad were called to the scene, as well as many other first responders.
