Bennington

It’s Garlic Festival Time Once Again

It may only come around once a year, but that helps to make it one of the most highly anticipated events in Southern Vermont and the surrounding areas.

Crowds, such as this at a previous GarlicFest, often number as many as 15,000 over the two days. Photo provided.

The 24th Annual Southern Vermont Garlic and Herb Festival takes place on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, on the grounds of Camelot Village on Route 9, just west of Bennington.

The event, presented by the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce, is know for its cascading rows of 200 plus garlic vendors, kids activities, food trucks, beer and wine garden and regional live bands.

This year’s event will welcome over 30 new vendors, and offers demonstrations such as “how to make homemade garlic powder” and “working with black garlic.”  Admission is $10 at the gate and parking is free.
