To The Beat Of A Different Drum

Grafton Library patrons and area residents were invited to learn about music from around the world, spanning numerous cultures and eras, at a Tuesday, August 20 event entitled “Let’s Drum.” Participants had the opportunity try out a variety of unusual percussion played throughout the world and in various points in history.

Instructor John Duda leads participants in the Let’s Drum session behind the Library.

The event was followed by an Ice Cream Social and drawing the winners for the Summer Reading Program awards.  They were:

Adult Readers – set of 4 MASS MOCA Passes:

Diane Paine and Ann Marie Parisi.

Youth Reader – Miss Viviann

Juvenile Reader – Jaiden Quinones

Tween Reader- Emma Duncan

The library also has a brand new look, as part of its two phase renovation project.  The downstairs vestibule entrance has been redone and made handicapped accessible. There are new parking spaces, and during the past week, the library building has been completely resided in a shade of red, or as the library staff is calling it, a shade of read.
