Cleaning Up The Island
It was mentioned at the August 12 meeting of the Hoosick Town Board, that the traffic island at the junction of Routes 7 and 22, was looking a little overgrown with grass and weeds, and didn’t do justice to the new town sign recently installed. That is no longer the case, as three members of the town board, Eric Sheffer, Jerry McAuliffe and Bill Hanselman, joined members of Hoosick Rising, legislator Bruce Patire and Eric’s mother Kathy this past Sunday, August 25, to spruce things up.

The volunteers spent several hours pulling weeds and grass, two heaping pick up trucks full, cleaning up trash and generally putting a nice face on the Welcome to Hoosick site. That face will smile even brighter, once the reconstruction work is complete on Route 67, and the NYS Department of Transportation takes down the large detour signs that currently block most of the view.
