Nelma J. Motsiff

Hoosick Falls – Nelma J. Motsiff, 90, passed away on Friday August 23, 2019 at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. She formerly resided on Carey Avenue.

Nelma was born on July 5, 1929, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of the late Fred and Eva (Gibbons) Motsiff. She attended schools in Hoosick Falls and was employed at Lovejoy Chaplet for many years. Nelma enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a Yankee fan until her later years when she switched to the Mets.

Survivors include her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by four sisters Clara Salluzzo, Gladys Coonradt, Addie Kjelgaard and Eva Fleming and two brothers Stanley and Fred Motsiff and a nephew Tony Salluzzo.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Saturday August 31 at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
