New Lebanon Central School graduates from the Classes of 1949 to 2013 and their guests gathered for the school’s annual alumni dinner dance on July 13 at Winding Brook Country Club in Valatie. There were many hugs, reminiscences about high school days, enjoyment of a delicious buffet dinner, and music was provided by Paul Slusar, “The One-Man Band,” who played for the listening and dancing pleasure of those present. Richard Burns represented the Class of 1949 and Nicolette Brown represented the Class of 2013.

The Class of 1957 had the most classmates present with eight alumni. Long-distance travelers Karl Nurnberg from Georgia, Class of 1957, and Carolyn Nodolf from Wisconsin, Class of 1954, were recognized and the long-distance prize went to Brian Carter, Class of 1974, from El Paso, Texas. The raffle held every year at this event splits the winnings between the Alumni Association and two alumni. This year’s winners were Bob Weber, Class of 1965, and Debbie York Reiter, Class of 1971, and both winners graciously returned their winnings to the Alumni Association!
The New Lebanon Alumni Association holds its annual reunion every summer for any graduates and their guests and also publishes a semiannual newsletter, the SEQUAX. Every year the Alumni Association also awards scholarships to two NLCS seniors and also helps support the Yearbook Committee and the HS Library with monetary gifts.
